any interest in cage fights?

We, being our martial arts school, are thinking of holding amatuer mixed martial arts cage fights every month or so...
Main reason being, we have several students who want to compete, but there just arent any events being held in central florida.
So we are thinking of just holding them ourselves.

Problem is, that it is expensive. After sanctioning dues, officials fees, insurance, ringside doctors, etc. the cash layout up front is over 4K.

That means it is a big risk for us, and may mean losing money...which in this economic downturn, we really dont want to do.

Tickets to watch the fights would be about 20 bucks.

I'm interested to hear from members on here if this is something they would be interested in attending on a friday or saturday night as something a little different from the usual dinner and movies...or bar hopping?

We would hate to hold this thing and then have no one show up and lose thousands

What would the typical night consist of for $20? Number of fights, any food/drink, etc...?

entry fee would be about 20.

of course food and drink would be available.
there would be a complete concessions stand, and the VIP tables next to the cage itself would have something like hooters or wings house servers...possibly serving food catered from their restaurant.
that sort of thing
We might even try to do a live band and some other entertainment stuff to spice it up a little...still trying to put a game plan together
