My friend and I are really into craft beers.
I've been thinking of doing some home brewing, but I'm verrry new, and don't know a whole lot.
What's a good start?

What is a Mead like? I'm interested in this. I don't care for regular beers, but do appreciate a cold Strongbow once in awhile, and usually the bottled "girly" drinks. Haha

If I could brew strongbow, mmmm amazing.

I would find a local homebrew store near you, hope there is one near by and talk with them or get a starter kit

I have never done any meades..they can br dry or sweet i do know. Hard to find commercial mead to buy, but some places sell it. Maybe ask a local homebrew store, i know the one i go to sometimes has some of his to sample

I've been brewing about 2 years. New house has an electric stove. So, I built and outdoor brewery. Should be up and running by early 2011.

Homebrewer here, Southeastern PA, about 4 years at it. just over 100 gallons, most of it highly drinkable, a bit not so much.

Without any specialized equipment beyond a siphon, I do alright. Most of the process is actually a bit tedious, but the end result is worth it..."I Made This!" I've tried to make meads & ciders, and haven't much liked them, though my meads all taste waaaay better than the one I tried. Missus Marshman loves strongbow, too.

Makin' beer right now, should be ready for New Years'!
