My favorite Philly cheese steak

Chinks...on Torresdale Ave near Benner in NE Philly...a true Philly original !!

Delassandros on Henry and Ridge Avenues, Roxborough...is a 2nd best alternative.

Pat's and Gino's are good if you're looking for something to hold you over... until you can make it to Jim's.

I agree. Pats and Geno's are for tourists who don't mind paying....what is it now...$8.00 for Steak-um on a roll. So many other places that are better.

1. Jim's
2. Tony Luke's
3. George's (2nd and Girard)
4. Steve's
5. Gaetano's (Grant and Academy)

Can't believe no one has mentioned Mama's on Belmont Avenue in Bala. They are the best! They melt their pizza cheese with the steak after it's cooked so it's a big oozing mass of deliciousness. I've been eating them for 30 years and even though I live 2 hours away I still make the trek at least once or twice a year. Try one, you'll never go back to any other cheesesteak.

I second that...its not a trip to Philly without one of these...getting hungry just thinking about it...
