Little chipmonks . . . my neighbors had a rattlesnake (pet) and tried to feed him one. The snake wouldn't eat him. Once he stuck a kangaroo rat in there, BAMM! struck instantly, then slithered over and ate it, never touched the chipmonk. Wierd.
and the bears that we keep in a pit in the back yard.
I'm 4 or 5 blocks from the river so we get possums and a raccoon pack led by a grandpa raccoon as big as a medium sized doghouse. He stands his ground sometimes so I intend shooting him in the nose with a Red Ryder. (everyone has vulnerabilities[except Churchill's polar bears])

I really should have tried to photograph that Rideau porcupine. I was backing him up by tapping his nose gently with a long stick. He seemed determined to hide in my tent.
A terrible storm had just passed thru and beaver weakened trees were still falling. He displayed no intention to fill me with quills. We were all shook up that night.
