Eating: Best Bang for your Buck
I have a hard time spending much money in A2 because it doesn't seem like you get your money's worth. Where are the restaurants where you get something insane for the money? Every small town has the bargain meal that the locals know about but I haven't found anything in A2, have you?

sadly no. There isn't a ton that is truly 'cheap'. Lots of great places, but not if you want to be particularly frugal.

I have been reduced to cooking all my meals (not that I should complain) because I have not found any frugal restaurants.
There is always fast food... ;)

Try Weber's
I think the lunch buffet at Weber's Inn is a good value. They offer a salad bar, an entree or two, daily soup and chili.
Weber's also has tasty snacks at 'Happy Hour'.
Try Grizzly Peak for their freshly brewed beer, and good food. good value on take-out draft beer, especially if you join their 'Mug Club'.

The best bang for your buck food wise in Ann Arbor isn't in Ann Arbor.
The key phrase in the OP is "small town" - AA is not a "small town" relativly speaking.
Try Saline, Dexter, Milan, and Chelsea. As each one of those communities is a bedroom community of AA, that's where the locals go.

Saline - Dan's, Mac's, and some new Itialian place I can't remember the name of
Chelsea - The Common Grill (of course, but it's not cheap)
Dexter - The Dexter Pub
Milan - Milan Grill
And, even Ypsilanti - Sidetrack (my #1 favorite)

...there's other's I'm sure I forgot. But, you get the picture.
