Utitlities Payments

I'm taking classes over the summer, one of my projects I'm choosing to do is a study of utility prices and creating a map showing the current prices across the Country.

Please post your city/state, square footage of house and what your utility bill was last month.

It would be even more helpful if you could put how much your electricity was and how much your water was.

for a proper study you really need fair comparables such as similar square footage and similar year of construction, and fuel source. Otherwise you will get a lot of data that will be hard to generate any conclusions from, especially with the relatively low number of responses you will likely get from each area.

can't help ya out.. i live in military housing, and they pay my utilities. good luck

When I receive my bill, I will post. Most utility companies include the rate per KWH on their bills. Water companies also usually include price per gallon.

I'd agree with RedJeep

Also, my electric bill varies greatly seasonly. Anywhere from $90 - $200
Nothing for water- well

I live in a 900 sq ft older duplex-horrible insulation. My utility for electric only is about 150-175 during the cold of winter of same for hottest part of summer.

Interesting study, Pandora

Tucson, Arizona . . . Slump Block Construction w/ 1400 plus Sq Feet.

Electricity (all electric, no gas) . . . $42.12 (will increase as the temperature increases)

Water . . . Paid by HOA

Good Luck on your study.

For May 2011:
Elec: $35.22 (for 270 kWh from 4/26-5/25)
water: $4.46 (unknown amount, but says 40 units of TNGA from 4/01-4/30)

That's for Glen Allen (West Richmond), Virginia.
I live alone in a one-bedroom apartment, and try to keep my bills as low as possible!
