This LITERALLY made me sick...

I am not in PETA. I am not vegan. I am not even an activist. But this video is... AWFUL! No one should be allowed to do this to animals- food or not. I had to excuse myself from my workload for a minute to gather myself. Yikes, guys. I am appalled there are people out there who do this to any creature.

Why would I want to look at something that would make me sick? Wouldn't that be like saying, "Oh, this is bad, taste it!" :)

Britney 06-13-2011 03:32 PM

Or when my dad is like "Get a whiff of this!"

ew.

havasu 06-13-2011 03:33 PM

Or...."Do my feet smell?"

People can support PETA, it's okay. Me and my wife do, and we track our state and federal officials who support animal rights as well, and vote for them!

I don't know if I'd send money to PETA, but maybe the activist group in this video. I'd rather help a mom n pop farm saving animals. Just my preference, though. I'm definitely going to check up on my officials.

Can't do vids due to low bandwidth but I've seen similar footage. Dad used to work in the St. Paul stockyards. After that 20 or 30 years later he killed a squirrel that was digging up our lawn and he lost it breaking into sobs. We knew why.

PETA gets a bit crazy but I respect them too. I work with several wildlife groups and Greenpeace.

When I saw row upon row of dog houses with babies chained to them I learned about veal. I won't touch it in this lifetime. Once in Lancaster PA we asked if we could look inside a chinchilla farm. The owners acted shocked anyone would ask but they allowed us in.
We entered a humongous building with tier upon tier of cages. Ammonia was so thick that 10 feet in your eyes were streaming tears. I never got further than maybe 50 feet into the building before diving out a side door for air.
Those animals have sense like smell many times more acute than my own.

Don't wear fur around me because I intend to spray you.

I have a fur hat. Wolf in fact. I've had it for about 25 years. I feel my relationship with that hat helps me to honor and admire the animal it came from, so I don't feel bad about wearing it. It's not like I run out and buy a new one every year :)
