Gridlock? Men with earpieces? Must be the UN

It's great hearing how reserved and humble our world leaders are as they plan the redistribution of the worlds wealth. How much does this crap cost the City and State of NY?

NEW YORK (AP) - Restaurants are clearing space for world leaders and their entourages, the Waldorf-Astoria is fluffing the pillows in the presidential suite and people who live on Manhattan's East Side are just hoping to get into their buildings without a police escort.

Representatives from 192 countries will be in town in the upcoming week for a United Nations anti-poverty summit and the opening of the U.N. General Assembly's annual ministerial meeting. Antonio Cerra said the diplomats will eat hearty Italian food with luxurious touches like black truffles, now in season.

i dont remember the numbers but it was not cheap to have all the extra cops especially around the people that are not like in the US and have odd views.

Gridlock and guys with earpieces are not limited to the U.N. area. True, any time someone important comes to town, the UN usually gets hammered with gridlock, but there are other parts of the city that are hard to travel by car. And those damn Klingons with the Bluetooth headpieces are all over the place.
