Help Bring the 2013 Americas Cup to the Bay

Every once in a while an opportunity comes along that galvanizes a civic call to action from a community, regardless of diverse political, economic, and social backgrounds, I hope this is our day in S.F. This would absolutely be the biggest investment in infrastructure and civic pride since the 1939 Words Fair! I for one would find a few more nickels to squeeze out of my depleted middle class resources to support it! Tell everyone you knows who cares about the economic vitality of our city and surrounding areas... spread the word with online posts, comments, and blogs... Facebook it, tweet it

Interesting stuff, besides word of mouth how do we spread the idea? Is there a on-line request form or what?

Just look at the millions of dollars this will bring to our backyard plus the joy of watching what people around the world dream of being at this event.
Totally agree this is great plus the offer allowing cup sailors to learn about our flukey sailing conditions that is hard to master. Prost....=o&o>.....

Agreed, we missed out on the Olympics, let's not miss out on this!

I think it would be a Huge Boost to our fine Bay Area.

I must add think about the money the Worlds Series brought to the bay area, we sure can use another cash injection during these lean times.

Funny part born and raised in the bay area (still on an island), I never go to S.F. have not been on the Alcatraz tour, have crossed the Golden Gate bridge on foot and motorcycles 30 years ago. People come around the world to see these big attractions.
Best part was going up Lombard St. on motorcycles, my son now 4th generation to do this on Nortons. Lombard Street San Francisco
We are not normal.....=o&o>.......

It's too bad most of America doesn't care about sailing, but I think it is typical for the defender to pick their home port.

Like rally racing a automotive sport world wide but not in the US.
Car manufactures spend millions on these radical high tech vehicles
later many ideas end up in production vehicles.
I strongly agree most people do not understand sailing it's a
serious world event.
The millions of dollars to be made here in our backyard, I would of
enjoyed going to Perth to watch the races not in the budget then.
