JMHO but if anyone wants to move to Idaho it should be southern ID.

The best way to find a place to live in Idaho is to get off the main freeways and take the scenic routes.

Another town to consider is Idaho falls. Surrounding town are many small/rural lots which you seem to be looking for, and rent is fairly cheap. The city is smaller than Boise, but still has just about everything.

Good luck, Steve

Thanks Pathfinder, I'll look into it.

I live in Twin Falls. I do like the people but it is a bit dry and hot. I would like to live in a place that has snow on the ground for more than a couple of days at a time. If i did not have a business to run I think I would go to Salmon or Callis Idaho. They are small towns in the middle of the mountains with lots
of great places. The Salmon River is very nice in that area.

Thanks TFCJ. I kind of think the Boise area is where we need to look. It sounds like it meets our requirements and then some.

Unfortunately, my wife is ill. That keeps us from being too far from medical care, or I'd have us in a cabin up on a mountain.

Which is a nicer area, north, east, south or west of town?

I love it north of Boise. The road between Boise and McCall is one of the best drives in Idaho. It is around 100 miles to McCall. It is a windy road right through big mountains with a river that is just perfect. There are a few small towns along the way that are nice.
If you go northwest it is nice in Idaho City.

Thanks very much for the information, I appreciate it.

I have to laugh because my dad lives near you and his name is Chuck!
