I have attached some pictures of some places that I think are just great as you are traveling west through the Rocky Mountains. Of course there are a lot of other places that are just as beautiful throughout this great country of ours, but I am kinda partial to the mountains. :)
Rogers ass by the way is aproxamatly 4300 feet. Three Valley gap is a nice rest stop on the way West or east. And Arrowhead Lake is south of Revelstoke and the are some wonderful hot springs to visit. I hope you enjoy the pics. |
I wish we had your mountains over here in the bush.

My mom and grandma live in the Arctic circle... if you wear the right gear it's an amazing place to visit. I love visiting her and the rest of my family there, although I am partial to Virginia climate now so I wouldn't be able to live there. I took the first 3 pictures, my mom took the last 2 and sent them to me.
|
Nice pics! Where does your mom live...looks cold LOL

Here are some shots from a couple of places called Big Horn outlook and Bluerock Creek S.W. of Calgary
|
Wow. I just googled Aklavik. You can't get much further north than that without falling into the Beaufort Sea!
I'm guessing that's considered part of the MacKenzie River delta right? The amount of water I'm seeing there is pretty extreme. How are the mosquitos up there when everything thaws out? Ever since reading Farley Mowatt's tales of the Canadian north many years ago I've wanted to visit that area of our country. Post more pics if you have them. |

That tree would be perfect material for a chain saw sculpture :D But it would be a pity to cut it down. Do people canoe/kayak/raft Bluerock Creek. It looks like a great place for whitewater fun. |

That's funny. I googled Norman Wells and was looking at it in satellite view on google maps. I've got to check out Aklavik next. ***Alright I just did and you're not kidding about all the water! I agree, more pics! |
Bluerock is a little shallow for that, but there is a lot of place that are within a hour or so that you can ride the white water.
That tree is real cool, I just happened to spot it while I was driving, had to pull over and get a closer look. |
That tree is great!
Nice burls. |

Thanks Rip... I was making tea for my scotch.
Did you skip the one of the jumping salmon? |
Of course not.
They were all great pictures. But tea for scotch? What's that all about? |
tea with scotch. or rum. it's a great maritime tradition...
or maybe it's just my tradition :) |
A crappy set of smileys here, n'est pas?
A little south of The Rock... https://i921.photobucket.com/albums/a...viewSunset.jpg In Seaview PEI... https://i921.photobucket.com/albums/a...iewRainbow.jpg We drink many Caesars... https://i921.photobucket.com/albums/a...aviewBeach.jpg And watch the weather from Newfoundland roll on in. https://i921.photobucket.com/albums/a...ottageView.jpg Nature is great. |
