Whats so great about the Wal-Mart in Minot ND?!?!?
Canadians come and park their rv's in the parking lot. sometimes there are 20 or so. never fewer then 8 or 9. i'll have to take a pic. what gives? no wal-mart or equivalent up there?

Well, according to other forums I frequent, the US Walmarts have different inventory from "here", at least where the knife section is concerned. Also, brief looks at the online site shows a few things we can't get.

Weird thing is, I would have thought Walmart would be able to ship orders across the border.

You know, I have noticed that there are R.V. and camper trailers sometimes parked at the Wal-mart close to where I live. I am just wondering if it is not conveinent for those people to stop overnight there and then cary on to wherever? Seems to me like a weird place to spend the night.

For years, it has been common knowledge that Walmart has allowed limited overnight parking as a cheap alternative to a campground which charges a nightly fee. They get folks who spend money in their business, and the campers have a safe place to rest for the evening, because most Walmarts have on site security.

Walmart is 1 store chain that welcomes travelers(RVs) to park in their parking lots over night (boondocking). When you are traveling long distances with an RV and pulling in at 2AM, a Walmart parking lot is easier than finding a Park. Thanks Walmart!

And you can have breakfast at McD's in the morning.......afternoon......night.....

We all want to come see the Great Northern Railroad Bridge :D
Seriously though, if I had an RV I'd be bunking at Walyworld too sometimes.
Very convenient.

All they ask is you spend a little money at their stores, and why not?

Sound like a win-win situation.

Not exactly camping but if you're only looking for a cheap place to crash overnight on your way to awesomeness, it sounds like a pretty convenient place to do it.
