What do you like best about your city?

Who knows best about a city's attractions? The residents, of course!

Let us know what the best thing about your town is!

Well I used to love the Calgary Stampede, but even that gets old after going for 20 years. I do suggest it to though who have not been though, quite the party. Great kids area two, used to be my favorite part of summer growing up, other then no school of course ;)

moxie 11-16-2010 07:17 PM

My favourite things about Halifax: Donairs, microbreweries, the ocean, Halifax Pop Explosion, the Commons, the Farmer's Market.

RiponredTJ 11-16-2010 07:20 PM

The culture, diversity, green spaces and ambiance.
And of course the beautiful women.

Cowbizzoy 11-22-2010 05:31 PM

being sooooo close to the rocky mountains!

Plamondonbrews 11-22-2010 05:51 PM

Thing I like best about MTL is the beer! Great brewpubs everywhere and tons of microbreweries are sprouting around the city.

Grousebane 11-22-2010 06:41 PM

You could mention your city or region.
Just saying......

Pivot 11-25-2010 06:36 PM

Favourite thing about Fredericton? Well the Picaroons brewery is incredible, and the plakce has an awful lot of bars for such a small city which is awesome. Pretty nice spot in the maritimes, smaller city with a big city feel. Only about 3.5 hours from Halifax. I just dont like how the whole south side is built on a giant hill!

RiponredTJ 11-25-2010 06:51 PM

We usually overnight in Fredricton on our way to PEI every summer. It is a pretty great little city! I could live there. :cheers2:

ak40kush 11-26-2010 07:36 PM

I love the fact that I can walk to any destination of interest within 20 min. For the most part the community is pretty quite to.

Bazin 11-30-2010 08:22 PM

Edmonton does have some really nice homebrew shops, as well as a really great comic shop.

There are some fantastic local restaurants (Jack's Grill, unheardof) as well as a Melting Pot. Great food makes the winter bearable.

shortz 12-02-2010 02:18 PM

Winnipeg... it's always there.

esoxhntr 12-05-2010 01:20 AM

Toronto - it's the center of the universe. :p

You ever hear that saying "he's a legend in his own mind" ?

:justkidding:

I was there a couple of weeks ago and was stunned by the amount of beautiful women everywhere I went.

know1 12-21-2010 11:31 AM

Halifax is great because it has mostly everything you need without going far to get it & you can always run into someone you know

CraSYDiamond 12-24-2010 10:18 AM

Our area has lots of things to offer. Kingsville (my town) has the Fantasy Of Lights throughout the park and the town at Christmas time. Migration Festival in the fall, celebrating the Canada Goose as we are the home of Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary. We are on the main route of the southern Ontario wine region, with numerous wineries and festivals. A short 10 minute drive from Point Pelee National Park (The southern tip of mainland Canada). We have a ferry in the summer dock here to bing you over to Pelee Island. Short drive to so many local communities, including Windsor, with tonnes of things to offer, including the Red Bull Air Races in the summer and the Freedom Festival.

brew-medic 12-26-2010 08:57 AM

That is 200 people and if you need something like a tool and your neighbour has it, you can just go borrow it, even if they are in disneyland, they wouldnt care

fillergirl 01-01-2011 06:40 PM

I like the climate and plants and trees... but there's a big urban sprawl built all over the temperate rainforest here. :( Awe.

Haha it's so true! In the mind of Torontonians :D

BluThunder 01-13-2011 08:48 PM

Hamilton - How many cities have that many waterfalls? We have some really great views

alex_C 01-14-2011 02:19 AM

Vancouver is nice, you can drive an hour and a half (or less) in any direction and be in the middle of nowhere. Lots of outdoor activities to do any time of year, and the fishing is world class!

BCboy 01-21-2011 04:32 PM

I struggle to think of something that makes it great here. But nothing comes to mind.

After reading that I Googled images of Kamloops, and to me it looks like a pretty nice place to live.

Lehbs 01-24-2011 08:53 AM

Can't find anything that would list. Wish I could move anyways. Just need a hot Job market again.

Its not the worst place in the world, but its not great.
The mayor and council and anti-business, unless it is a pal of theirs.
The cops and bylaw idiots are corrupt.
Its dusty and dirty, and the roads are in poor shape at best.
We used to be allowed to have some fun here, but its quickly ending.
I plan to move this summer, tired of the BS in this town.

The stuff that drew me here to live, and I used to enjoy has mostly been taken away from us.

RiponredTJ 01-25-2011 07:06 PM

It's like that most everwhere.
At least you have a tribute statue to the great salmon :)
:cheers2:

lowflare 01-28-2011 10:22 AM

Like---> The summers are great , enough snow in the winter to snowmobile

What I hate--->The bugs, extreme cold snaps and location (7 hr drive to the closest big City (civilization))

MECHANICMAN 01-28-2011 11:03 PM

The Edmonton river valley and the trail system

I did not know we had one.
I will have to try and find it and go there for dinner and a couple pints.

Teambrugal 01-30-2011 10:15 PM

Love that when we get 10cm of snow it is just another day, and not a state of emergency like our provincial capital....:p

Gt34 02-02-2011 09:09 PM

Haha beautiful. We were watching the weather network when ab and some places in ont were sitting at -25 and only ont had the severe weather warning......

I love how good my city is getting at apologizing lol
