This is a great place for people hows hobbies revolve around the water. So if your planning on going on a vacation anytime soon consider Cape Hatteras. The sound is great for fishing reds,flounder,trout,snapper and then if you ever get bored of that which is nearly impossible you can walk right on over to the ocean side for other, bigger fish.
Now if thats not enough it also provides you with great waves for surfing or skimming. Also the sound is ideal for kitting. Its fairly shallow and the wind is normally blowing harder then ever so the possibilities are endless, just check out Real Kite surfing which is located by the sound.
