Anyone have the RI beach driving permit?

I was down exploring RI this weekend, and I saw a couple access points to get on the beach but it was posted that in order to do so, you need to have a permit. Anyone know the story on those? Where I can get one if out of state or about how much they run? Thanks.

There are only a coulpe of sand trails but the application is run through the burlingame state park ranger station. Its like 80 bucks for the year IIRC for out of state. There is a list of required gear on the RIDEM website.

Burlingame is the place to get a permit ... but a big rate hike this year.

The 2010 RI rate is $100.00 and Out-of-State $200.00.

There is a list of required gear, and periodic inspections.

We have a permit and go out to East Beach, good place to go if you enjoy surfcasting.
