The ones I frequent the most:
Kroger in Bonsack. Good selection, don't just look in the cooler, there are shelves throughout the wine and cheese section that have the more unusual stuff. The wine manager there will order if they don't stock what you want.

Awful Arthur's in Towers Mall is a brew pub. Their brewery name is Big Daddy.

Wine Gourmet on Franklin Rd. in SW does tastings for wine and beer in Friday between about 5-7 and Saturdays between noon and 5. Beer on Friday, wine on Sat.

I was in Blacksburg a few years ago and had the best Oatmeal Stout of my life made by I think the Blacksburg Brewery. Anyone have any idea if they are still brewing?

I wish we still had our Hooters up here. But alas, a bad franchise took them both out.

Dionysus.

It's been a while since I was in Blacksburg, but if the old Ton 80 Club is still around they had a world-class beer selection (by "word-class" they offered several hundred beers from all around the world.) IIRC, the Underground is still there too, and they had a decent beer selection too

I go anywhere that carries beer that you don't see every day....a few I have found are Wine Gourmet on Franklin Rd., a little grocery type store on the market downtown(cant remember the name), and the other day I found a place called Mr. Bill's Wine Cellar on Brambleton.
