Roseville area cost of living, etc.

I have been contacted by a headhunter looking to place me in a job in Roseville. I would really like to hear any comments where Roseville and the surrounding area is concerned. My wife is originally from California and we do have some friends in the Placerville area and have spent time there. Can someone provide some input as to the cost of living, pros and cons, etc., to the Roseville lifestyle, etc.

My brother lives in Roseville and he really likes it. It's got a small town feel, and honestly if I were going to live in the Sacramento area, I'd choose Roseville. It's a conservative area compared to the South Bay where I live, but they also seem to have a strong sense of community.

Can't comment on cost of living. I'm in San Jose, so everywhere else in the world sounds cheap to me. But my brother makes a modest living and does pretty well. It's one of the places where if you make a good living, your wife can be a stay at home mom.

I lived in Roseville for about 10 years. Nice area and alot of shopping and services close. Rent can be a bit high for a nice place but not like bay area, which is pretty high compaired to here. Inventory for nice houses to purchase are shrinking compaired to last year. Woodcreek school is fairly new and seems to be a good one. Several golf courses close by.
