Avoid it? Wow, you'd have to avoid downtown entirely to miss it.
I think I will be going this year, have friends who run a booth there... its pretty fun stuff. The area around it is full of entertainment as well so be on the look out for cool happenings in the way of DJs and live music.

Post tips about planning for, going to, or maybe even how to avoid ComicCon for 2011.
First tip: If you want to go, buy your ticket as soon as you can before they sell out.
Registration didn't open like they planned, so far they have only had a test of their new registration service. hopefully they get it worked out, I really want to be able to go this year as I was out of town last year.
Still waiting for the announcement! I tried getting tickets both previous times and the test 1000 ticket day. failed. any new out there on when it will open?
Still nothing on new sale dates, I've been checking regularly as has another of the Officers I work with. A rumor said the tickets would go on sale in July itself but nothing on the official site mentions or backs this.
Well i just got my passes in the mail, from last year. Hope you guys make it all right. Sometimes it helps to know people, but my friends can't do me any favors, so I guess not always
