For a quick trip, I like to head up Nate Harrison grade to the top of Palomar. It is an easy graded dirt road leading up from the base. Can be fun after it snows

Other than that Anza Borrego.......

all yes very nice places but you forgot, Superstition mountain (blackcat trail) and truckhaven and pinyon mountain.

Pinyon has the squeeze and heartattack hill.

Coral has upper and lower bronco.

I have 3 buddies with totalled jeeps from driving Bronco! It can be treacherous after it rains. Speaking of rain, everywhere's muddy in East County right now. There are some trails out on Proctor Valley, Blossom Valley, Pine Valley. I highly advise Google Maps for finding new trails. It takes time to find new (and legal) places like that but you find gems.

Ocitillo wells, hit the ranger station for a map, and you can cruiz all day. Stop in Jullian for a buffalo burger at the 4 way stop before you head back down the hill out of town.

If you're still interested there's a group heading out this weekend. 11-7-10, to run Pinyon Mt Trail (The Squeeze and Heart Attack Hill) Details here:

Heart Attack Hill Run

I'll be running out to Corral Canyon Saturday, 11-6, probably going to go across Sidewinder and Bronco Peak (not the connector,,,).

A Jeep with a mild lift, off-road tires, appropriate trail gear and a driver that pays attention can run any of these trails. New folks are always welcome
