Benica/North Bay great place to walk, jog, picnic, fish

The Benicia State Recreation Area along the Carquinez Straight is a great place to walk, run, bike, bird watch, etc. I find a morning walk along the water is very enjoyable. The recreation area is 1.5 miles west of the outskirts of Benicia on I-780, take the Columbus Parkway exit.

My wife and I spent a week in Benecia last fall. It was business. We were totally shock at how nice Benecia is. The downtown area was great, they have a great framers market on thusrday evenings and the whole town seems to come, then everyone hits the restaurants or bars, alot of them with live entertainment. we had a great time and did a lot of walking on the pier or jeddy and then downtown. Wish I'd have known about this walk along the water, would have been great.
