William Harrison on the Silverado Trail. Rent bikes at St. Helena Cyclery and get (even more) advice on some great small winery.

Livermore is a great place to go wine tasting in the Bay Area. They charge a mere $5 for most places and will serve you multiple tastings (usually 6-7) where Napa will gouge you $15-$65 for a taste (or lip wetting) of their wines.

Sylvan Ridge Vineyards, 27012 Briggs Hill Road, Eugene Oregon!

Elizabeth's Red - a Bordeaux style blend; I would give 94 points.
Malbec - an excellent stand alone varietal, mellow and well rounded tannins, 90 points.

Literally every wine I tasted, tastings are complementary; was top notch!! Comparable to anything from the Sonoma, St, Helena, and the Napa and Anderson Valleys; better than most!

Not Super small but if you love Cabs than Cornerstone in Yountville has the best. I have been to "almost" every winery in Napa vally and have fallen in love with there customers service and Cab's.

Livermore wineries are great to go tasting, but they dont offer the ambiance that napa or Paso does.

You should definitely stop by Seghesio Family Vineyards in Healdsburg. It's one of Sonoma County's oldest wineries and is still exclusively family owned. The are right off the town square, very easy access.
