Council Sets Workshop on Downtown Master Plan
The San Marcos City Council will hold a workshop on the Downtown Master Plan on Thursday, September 20, 2007, at 6 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins.
Broaddus & Associates, the City?s Downtown Master Plan consultants, will present preliminary findings and recommendations to the City Council.
Mayor Susan Narvaiz and City Council invite the community to share their comments and input to further develop recommendations for downtown on topics such as retail and commercial development, parking, transit oriented development, traffic circulation (pedestrian, vehicular, bicycle), signage/wayfinding, gateways, corridors and enhancing connectivity with the university campus.
?The City continues to take steps to plan for the future of the San Marcos community and its downtown,? said Mayor Narvaiz. ?This is an opportunity for all community members, including property owners, business owners, and residents to observe and provide comments related to downtown recommendations and development issues.?
