"SMTX 78666" is a collection of 19 of the finest bands from San Marcos, Texas?a college town 25 miles from the ?live music capitol of the world?, Austin, Texas. A majority of the proceeds from the sales of the compilation will be donated to AFFTER (Advocates for Fibromyalgia Funding Treatment Education and Research).
*Fibromyalgia syndrome is thought by some to be the most common rheumatic condition aside from osteoarthritis. It accounts for perhaps 15 percent to 20 percent of visits to rheumatologists. According to one estimate, 2 percent of Americans, or about 3.7 million people (including many older women), may have the syndrome.*
Sometimes support for a noble cause can come from very unexpected places. "SMTX 78666" is not for everyone. It's a compilation CD comprised of bands whose members frequent the party culture of San Marcos (area code 78666). So there is some adult content on the CD. If you don't like adult themes and a peppering of strong language in your music, this CD is not for you. However, if you are liberal minded and enjoy fantastic, fun and often hilarious music in many different genres, then you will love "SMTX 78666".
"SMTX 78666" is scheduled for release on May 12th which is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day. The CD release party will be held at the Triple Crown and feature three bands from the CD: The Jocks, Robbie and the Robots, and Kallisti Gold. Nationally the CD will be available for purchase through
www.cdbaby.com. It will be available regionally at Sundance Records, Hastings in San Marcos and Waterloo Records in Austin.
The viewpoints expressed in "SMTX 78666" do not reflect the viewpoints of any member of AFFTER. This Album was independently produced by Robbie Doyen and Doyen Records LLC with the intent to donate money to support research on Fibromyalgia.
