Do graffetti

Is this skate park thing still going on? I have two kids a girl and a boy, my daughter is really into skateboardind(YA!!!) and Im hopeing my son will be too. Id like to get involved with this if possible. Isnt the name of the playscape childrens park? Lets build a bunch of ramps etc near there, And plastic sucks, I dont want to teach my kids that plastic prefab stuff is good. No mostly it is ****. Sometimes it is needed but skate parks should be made of concrete, steel and wood. oh ya, maybe they can give the kids some legal walls to do graffitti. Let them express their feelings with paint or they are gonna start huffin the stuff to kill those feelings.

The city of Austin skateboarders have raised over 130,000 dollars over the last few years.
All this time the city and the council where behind them, saying that they would match it and throw down some other cost.
Well as of Friday, the city has totally backed out, and there are no plans what so ever to build a skatepark ( a public one) in Austin.

New Braunfels has a prefab park
Seguin has a pre fab park.
Neither get used, the city's think that it's be cause there's not enough skaters around, but there wrong, the skaters hate prefab and refuse to skate it.

San Antonio has buit an ok ( ok .....long story) skate park. It's tiny and it is over crowded, people come from all over to skate the concrete.
Here's a pic of my bud, shreadward "smooth as silk" cole, enjoying the coping at LBJ Park in San Antonio....shot by my self.

Spread the word.
If we sit on our hands, during this special time, we will get nothing and or junk.
Please spread the word to Skaters, Parents, Neighbors and eispecially buisiness owners who are sick of skaters tearin' up there property. Tell them that they can help get rid of them by giving these kids a place to ride.

A-2 you got the Austin thing backwards. The city has had $125,000 in place for years and the skaters were/are supposed to raise the same. Good luck getting a straight answer out of anyone on the non-city side in Austin about what is actually happening, how much money their association has raised, or where in the budgeting process they actually are. Laurie at Tegnar set up the original deal and held a few fund raisers, and either (once again in Austin what is real?) Laurie got fed up with the total apathy of Austin skaters or she was pushed out by the folks running the show now. I'd rather keep those guys out of our town so they don't screw it up like they have in Austin. A-2, If you post this on pool sharks I'll kill you.
Thank god I live in San Marcos again.

SE sorry about the rant, but the Austin Skatepark Association has Ass in their name for a good reason. We need as many parents, adults, homeowners as we can get to show interest. I want a good park not only for me but also my daughter who is 3, doesn't skate yet, we're trying, but probably will having been raised at various skate events. Welcome aboard.

Glazer & the Buccaneers

Saw that this morning. I've said it before....for all you want to talk about United and their international profile http://www.buy-games.narod.ru/, they really seem to do business the right way. I'm interested to see just how much Kenyon had to do with these results, so next year will be interesting.

Found this on a skate website:
http://www.news8austin.com/content/h...=99691&SecID=2

However, at the skate contest at House Park/ARC, the Austin City Manager told some of the older skaters the city has $250,000 set aside, but the city is still looking for a location. Of course no one asked if it was in the proposed budget for this year.
