Party School

Yes SWT-TSU@SM is still a party school. Students always party and some party too much. It's not nearly as good a school as it was in the 60's and early 70's but much better than it was in the super grade inflated 80's. The greeks have been the party leaders through it all. You could still go through four years without even seeing a party. Everyone choses their own reality, hangs with their own kind and blocks out what they want. If you want to come here to party you'll find plenty of them. If you just want to study that choice is yours to make. There is a whole spectrum of possible college experiences. Feel free to mix and match.

Swt

Southwest Texas State Normal School
Southwest Texas State Normal College
Southwest Texas State Teachers College
Southwest Texas State College
Southwest Texas State University
Texas State University - San Marcos

Which name is out of place ?

The party school rep was always a little overblown, except for maybe sigma nu and the pikes (bless their little hearts).

Texas State Normal School

LBJ went to SWT
The party legend always grows with the retelling. Especially if they're drinking at the time. The early 80's were the wildest in terms of over the top drunken frat parties.

How about the 4 that imply San Marcos is in Southwest Texas? Wouldn't that be Del Rio or Big Bend?

Also TSU is Texas Southern University, has been since we were SWTSC.

Nau

After San Marcos becomes Outlet Mall City-
Texas becomes Tejas-
Then becomes part of Aztlan-
And then the North American Union is declared.
All good Mall City inmates will spend their hard earned Ameros at the outlet malls with prior approval, of course. It must be true, Alex Jones says so.

Clarity

There is a definite clarity in that name. Certainly pinpoints the location. It would keep the cheerleaders busy at a game, "give me an L...". And no movie plagerism.

Believe it or not the TSU abreviation was the biggest sticking point at the legislature over the name change. Texas Southern probably has the third biggest number of alumni in the state legislature.
