Water Restrictions

Why is it that San Antonio is still in stage I restrictions (just lifted stage II restrictions last week) and San Marcos lifted stage I restrictions already? We draw from the same aquifer.

Maybe because we don't get all our water from the Aquifer, most of it comes from Canyon Lake.

Or maybe because SA is 20 times bigger than us it has a greater impact on the aquifer.

Or maybe their Council hasn't gotten around to it.

I get all my water from a hole in my backyard. And I like the idea of water conservation. I don't like the idea of repealing water conservation measures when spring flows are still low and water table still low- even though surface water is aplenty. I don't mean to criticize the rule makers - I just want to know why restrictions vary by zone. Thanks, though.

I thought we were pretty quick to lift the restrictions too. I'd like to see something a little stricter on the way out of each stage.
