Since this is a Seattle/Tacoma forum I thought we needed a Tacoma version of a very important thread. Also, I noticed a lack of Tacoma themed threads here.
My favorites for the time being,
The Red Hot - nice rotating selection, you never know what you're going to get.
The Parkway - Hoppy heaven
E-9 - They make their own, fugetaboutit.
The Rock has a decent selection of their own brews + 1 or 2 guest taps. I believe their beer is brewed by Fish brewing Company....but I'm not positive. Their Sledge Hammer IPA is my Favorite.
I haven't been to the Harmon Downtown in a long time...but I like going to any brewpub to sample beer. I'll have to stop in again for some brews.
The Harmon is owned by the same people that own The Hub, which is another good restaurant/bar up the hill (near Doyle's, the Irish place). The Ram down on Ruston is also good as they make their own but they're scattered around the Puget Sound so I'm sure everyone knows about them.
I keep it cheap and usually walk to Magoo's right by my house or meet up with some buddies at The Top.
HARMON SUX tap house and hub are good because the brewers there are different. The beers at Harmon are terrible and the service consistently sucks as well. Avoid at all costs
Last summer we attended the ACDC concert at the TDome and I found that Harmon was a convenient stop. The beers were really good as well, the food is typical bar fare but a good deal.
They accept all ages there which was a plus.
The other place I have been to in T-Town was Engine House #9 but that was back in the 1980s when I was in college, has anyone been there recently as well as in my timeframe to compare the atmosphere?
