Current Weather in Seattle

Hey all. I'm currently living in Japan and will be return at the end of the year. I've been away for over three years. I'm just curious what's happening on the ground and or in the air at this time. Do we have feet of snow or just your typical slush?

Either way, I can't wait to get home.

It took me nearly 4 hours to get from Seattle home (22 miles) and the airport has been closed for 5-6 hours. We got hit with snow all day, then this afternoon it dropped to the 20s and all froze. The entire freeway system, plus all other roads are solid ice. Here at my house we have 6", at my parents in Port Angeles 24". Seattle had maybe 3" when I left. Supposedly we'll get more snow tonight then down to as low as 8F tomorrow night, highs in the 20s.

Definitely not the usual slush, but it should be gone by the time you get back!

They just talked to a guy on the TV news that took 12 hours to get from Seattle to Tukwila by bus so I don't feel so bad. It's 15 degrees here now and I'm staying home.

Current weather in Seattle: Sucky.

Took my wife 6.5 hours to get from Queen Anne to the backside of the airport. That's about 16 miles and should take 24 minutes on a normal traffic day.

Yesterday was my day off so I stayed home and enjoyed watching to snow. I did have to get out a little and go into Issaquah for a doctors appointment for my 1 year old but that took me less than 2 hours to get to the doctors office, see the doctor and back home. Today I had to go to work and I got to the airport in less time than it would have taken me on a normal Tuesday afternoon.

Well it's snowy and icy, I haven't had any trouble getting around, I've seen some crazy stuff though.

3-6 inches of accumulated snow in my backyard on Cap Hill. Perhaps people with bald tires should stay home, light a fire and drink some brew!
