Looking to move back to the area, but not in the city.
Somwhere in Enumscratch, Maple Valley, Graham, or some
place similar. Long story short, we went back for a visit,
and now I want to move back. My wife fell in love with the
place, so all systems are go. We need to sell our current
house, find work there, and buy a new house. (yeah, the
tough part) Wife is a RN/BSN with MDS, and supervisor skills,
so hopefully work for her shouldn't be that big a deal.
Even in the far suburbs/rural areas the prices are going to mean more money that you spend back there. The good news is the availability of short sales and foreclosures. While the job picture here is not as bad as many other areas of the country it's still bad. There have been new medical facilities and hospitals built, including a new one on the plateau in Issaquah, that wouldn't be a bad commute from Maple Valley or even Hobart area out toward Black Diamond.
There's talk of the big hospital in Renton Valley Medical merging with UW Medical Center, not sure if that means more jobs or layoffs.

What kind of work are you looking for?
Good luck!
Issaquah would be just fine as well. I'll let the wife
know about that. I can do anything, the wife is the
real bread winner. We were looking at a house in Black
Diamond for around $100k.
I forgot all about Hobart, that would work as well.

Wow, you actually found something for $100k? Even in Black diamond that seems really low. Issaquah is going to be $300,000+ but the commute from B.D. to work there isn't too bad, maybe 1/2 hour.
Man she fell in love with the place, and
I got home sick when we had to leave.
Funny thing hit me while we we're there,
I really miss moss! Here it's very is brown
and dry, there everything is lush and green.
Plus I'd love to go camping with tarps, instead
of A/C!
You should also think about checking out the north sound as well. Up north of Everett housing is also cheaper and there is also industry so you can find work. If you had to commute to Seattle, there is now light rail too.

Yea, light rail runs from Seattle to the airport. Not north to Everett, East to Bellevue and not South to Tacoma.
Would you consider the olympic peninsula? Lots of medical jobs, it seems...and I live in Sequim, which is exceptionally green but waaaaay less rain than Seattle. The best of both worlds, it seems. Small town, so not so much in the way of high end shopping, but we have a Home Depot/Costco/Safeway/NAPA/etc. Beautiful outdoor activities.
