Been around 67 years and never needed a weapon either! If I would feel that the area I live in is that dangerous that I would need a weapon to protect myself, I'd rather move to a safer area!

Ahh yes, Wisconsin........one of only two states that prohibit everyone except LEOs to carry concealed....

That's exactly where I would want to be if I was a bad guy and knew that no one was carrying concealed.

I just got my concealed permit but have not yet purchased a handgun, always have had hunting rifles and shotguns but I am new to this world. Any suggestions on an easy to conceal/shoot handgun? Also I don't want to be spending the same amount on ammo as I do my 223 haha

Firing Range

steve888: Sir, it is difficult to say: this is the unit for you; ""garunteeed''
My carry firearms, SW-638, Ruger LCP, Glock 17 - 22; GP 100

were you at a Gun Store; and looked at this assortment, and that is what it is.
each has a ?place? haha; maybe I'm a little off hahaha;

go to a shooting range; rent different models, one will feel better? or you like the look

follow up; and we can share/discuss or beat our gums

I hear the white elephant has a good selection, is that a good place to start or should I just make the drive to cabellas? Ive been looking at different models on the internet I like the look of the 1911 but if you have experience with one is the exposed hammer a difficult thing to have on a concealed? If thats the case I shot a buddies XDm 45 the other day and I really liked all the safety features but the grip seemed a bit big for my hands. This is going to be a hard decision haha

follow up

steve888: Sir, ''white elephant''; No Sir,

start with your application, something that appeals to your daily life.

Many of us have a ''white elephant'', one that doesn't fit a particular lifestyle,
we purchase, because we want, or think it will be a do-all

each application is unique, each firearm is a compromise.

follow up; with questions, or answers,

many? will suggest xyq; then go to Cabellas and feel, smell, test your experiences with ours. At that point; something may strike your fancy.

my encouragment; exlore, consider your thoughtful application, and wants
