because although he is clubhouse cancer, he is one of the biggest names in baseball (good or bad doesn't matter) which will no doubt increase the fan base and attendance at games. Plus the fact that they only signed him to a one year deal might help encourage him to perform more. If they use him strictly in a DH role, me might help us out. If they place him in the order behind Longo, he should help Longo out by having a big bat behind him (lacked that last year with Pena) forcing pitchers to actually go after Longo instead of pitching around him.
