Will Tablets kill laptops?

Are tablets weather Android or Apple going to kill laptop computers?

You are not seeing digital textbooks for college on kindel and if you have an ipad or android that has the kindel apps on them you can view the books as well.

So do you think that tablets (Ipads) are going to kill laptops. They can do just about everything a laptop can do just in a smaller lighter package.

Until the software capabilities catch up with these new machines and the 'cloud computing' revolution, I dont see it. I think laptops will still have their place.

This is the biggest 'drawback' that I hear about these things.

I prefer laptop to tablet, but I think most people who use them for entertainment will probably switch.

I am on my laptop with my wifes ipad playing techzilla from revision3.com right now.

i have both, i would never replace my laptop with a tablet. the tablet is good for playing around with the apps and reading books and light browsing. but for heavy duty browsing or mainstream programs like Word or Excel it just isn't very good.

I like the iPad but give me a laptop any day of the week. I carry 2 laptops with me 99% of the time.
