Backyard Chickens

Anyone doing it? Looking at getting a new flock and wanted some feedback on what breeds you have found most successful for the Central Texas area.

I do. I raise Leghorns. I lover it, just a piece of advice, if you have any local dogs, make sure you coup is impregnable, they will get in and massacre everyone you have, they wont even eat them.

15? Wow, I raised them when I was a kid, never had one go longer than a few years. I didn't name them. Food you know. Hard to eat pets.

Backyard chickens are pretty common in my small town. But I don't have any and never will.

How can I block this thread from my neighbors?!?!? Those crack heads already have dogs that bark all night, every night, rain, snow, sleet, heat, doesn't matter they just bark.

Maybe I could find some vicious, dog eatin' chickens???
