Funny, because I initially thought the same way too. At least that's the way some people have depicted in video's/films (not political, educational, or informative types) in years past.

I didn't deny the part about Texans being bad ass I just tried to explain the origin of the saying was a littering campaign. Maybe that's why no one believed me

Yes it was a keep the highways clean slogan, to remind people not to litter, and yes I believe it was from the 1980's, was that a long time ago or what?

This one is one of my favorites. That same airplane buzzed my car when he was coming in for a landing in San Marcos. You can see all of the old videos on the link above.

Nice 58 Chevy pickup and the B-17 wasn't bad either.
