tornado sirens

remember these old school sirens?

we had those here in my area,some still remain(most got replaced with 2001 talking sirens),the one in the video above is called aca allertor siren(located in niles,mi)but we also had those here in DFW area in tx

the pic is one of the allertors we have/had in ft worth,tx

the one in pic got replaced along with few others..

last november 2010,i went to hurst,texas and i saw one still there

You know, now that I think about it, I have not seen any in Austin.
I lived in Waco and Kansas and I was used to seeing them. In Kansas, the first time one of those things went off, it scared the crap put of me!
I remember looking up and saying WTH did that just say?

We have several here in San Angelo and the first of the month you can hear them at noon.
