Great American Roadside Motel

I was hoping this would include pictures from the outside. But, these are interesting. Anyone stayed in one of these?

I can remember traveling with my parents in the 50's, from Cincinnati to Ft. Lauderdale to visit the grand folks and spending the nite in places like that. We use to take US 27 which was only 2 lanes all the way. Man that was a long trip.

I really like those old style motor lodges where you park right in front of your room.
On my trips to Florida i stay in a huge one in Smithfield NC. Looks like this.=
