New one for me. I was spraying the rest of the mud off the undercarriage of my Jeep, along with degreasing the engine. I decided to use the rest of my clock time to rinse all the mud into the drain, and I noticed a guy with a hose spraying the other way. He asked me to leave, and when I asked him why, he said "Your car's too dirty." I was polite, thanked him, and went home to finish the paint and tires.
I'll check that one off my list! Too dirty for a car wash.

Never happened to me yet. What would that guy say if he was in parts of the country with lots of mud that gets washed off. He would be out of business in no time.
I have a friend who owns a "quarter" car wash, and he tells me about kicking people out all the time when they bring in their muddy jeeps to be cleaned. He says it clogs his drains and he has to clean up their mess with a shovel. My response to him was, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!"

I've loved jeeps since they (employers) gave me one for the Summer working construction on a huge AT&T plant. That jeep had so much mud on it that it was difficult to tell what color it really was. The recent 4 wheeler commercials feature mud as a badge of honor. Clean jeeps seem a bit unnatural.
Oregon is considering outlawing washing cars at home. That won't bother me cuz I wash my van once every 5 years whether it needs it or not. There's also the fact that Oregon is really a car wash masquerading as a state.
You folks need some sort of pre-wash to get the big crud off before the car wash. I'd suggest opening a 4 wheeler wash but those drains would have a terrible problem.

You're kidding right? Your state is trying to outlaw washing your own car at your own home? I love America but this is getting crazy.
No joke, we're not short of water but it seems the concern is directed at additives and gasoline washing into streams.
Next time it pours (assuming you're out of state) walk through a Walmart parking lot and the macadam is a rainbow of leaked gas & oil.

I swear, I had more mud on the jeep when I got home and rinsed her off than when I was on the trail.
They have an engine degreaser setting on the machine. I had an "oh crap" moment when the mud just started falling off in clumps. It looked like I had layed terra cotta tile on the floor of the car wash.
I can totally understand the guy's situation, and I'm sure there are those who just drive off leaving a mess. Maybe it was because I had a classic hi-fi copy of Black Sabbath playing...
