Not Davis but Weber if you like burgers I like the Burger bar on 1900 in Roy/Riverdale. One of my favorites to sit down and grab a beer is TGI Fridays on Riverdale Rd.
Unless you want to go to Salt Lake City and to a lesser extent Ogden, the restaurant selection is marginal in this area. Just drive down restaurant row in Layton and you'll understand. 99% national chains.
Here is what my wife and I prefer in the area.
American: Roosters in Layton - great micro brews - Two-Bit Street in Ogden is exceptional as well
Mexican: Fiesta Guadalajara around 300 North in Layton or a trip to the Red Iguana on N. Temple in SLC is worth the trip
BBQ: Pats in SLC or Soul and Bones in Ogden
Japanese: Midori on 1900 in Roy best sushi I've had in Utah, Tona in Ogden is 2nd
Chinese: 5-Star on 1900 in Roy, they actually have decent Tai food as well
What is it with restaurant chains and Utah? It like a mom and pop place cant survive because it is not on the national scene. If you make it to SLC there are a few that are good like Moochies. Best philly type sandwich in Utah. The meatball sandwich is good too.

Yeah, I try to time my trips up north so I can enjoy the Burger Bar any time I'm in that area. Besides huge tasty burgers, their shakes are thick enough to go above the cup!
Another great one is Pace's Dairy Ann on old 91 just south of Bountiful. The same family serving the same great burgers since the late 50's!!!
