There's a pretty decent Vietnamese place in Layton if you like Pho Bo (Vietnamese national dish). It's called Kim Long and it's on the little "frontage" road that lies between the mall and the freeway where all the other restaurants are (Red Robin, Outback, etc.)

If you've never had Vietnamese. Pho (pronounced like the first half of the mother of all swear words) is a safe easy way to start in. You'll love it.

Neither of these are Davis County but the Timbermine is very good.
If you want a high end steak house with an extensive menu and wine list try Corbin's Grill in Layton.
