Local Brews
I love to find local breweries and taste their beers. I have yet to meet a beer I didn't like.
But what are some good Virginia breweries?

Not looking for a bar. I am looking for the name of breweries. I don't do bars anymore. To many stupid people and drunks piss me the hell off.

Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton, Devil's Backbone near Wintergreen, Cally's in Harrisonburg, South Street Brewery in Charlottesville - all of these are brew pubs, not really a stand alone brewery. Starr Hill brewery in the Crozet are is the only stand alone brewery that I know of.

Star Hill is a great micro brewery. My father and I drink theirs all the time. They have many different beer flavors.

Haven't had any yet, but have heard good things about it. Places to get it are listed on their site.
Roanoke Railhouse Brewery
and a link for Devil's Backbone too.
Devils Backbone Brewing Company
We've been to Backbone twice and enjoyed it very much both times, not to mention that it's a beautiful drive to get there.
Be well,
Richard

star hill, devils backbone, and blue ridge are my picks locally. Im not huge fan of callys beer or food. all three of the above mentioned breweries are open for tours most of the time and have very knowledgeable staff
