On Sunday December 11, 2011 we had our annual sledding run at the Ahtanum State Forest for the
Eastern Washington Adventures members.
Around 10 AM we met up at the Highland Quick Stop in Cowiche and convoyed to the parking area at the end of the pavement on Cowiche Mill Road to air down. We headed up the gravel part of Cowiche Mill Road and a few miles in my XJ (Tweety Jeep) started having problems running. Craigen was nice enough to offer Monster and me a ride. I did not want to leave my rig anywhere to far up in the hills in case I had to tow it back in the dark. Craigen follow me back to Highland Quick Stop and we drop off the Tweety Jeep. We headed back up to meet the others that were heading up Hatton Road toward Jumpoff Lookout.
We were heading up the first Green Dot on the left toward Hatton Road when we see our group and what looks like a TJ being pulled by a Bronco. To find out, TJ40s TJ was holding Victor's Bronco from rolling to fast down the hill since the Bronco stopped running. Since this was Victor's run it was his call what he wanted to do. Victor thought it was best to just do the run another day and most of us agreed. Two rigs of Victor's guest decided to stay and play. The rest of headed back to Highland Quick Stop.
We said goodbye to Victor and headed to the Eastern Washington Adventures Club House to visit since the day was still young.
It was a very fun day even though the run did not work out as planned.
