Where to stay on the Washington State Coast in January?

If you were going to stay the weekend somewhere along the Washington State Coast in January, where would you want to stay and why? What is there to see/do there? I am looking for ideas for our Wedding Anniversary. The plan is to drop the kids off in Gig Harbor at my Sister-in-laws and head to the cost from there. We want to see some sights during the day and at night have a place within walking distance to have a few drinks. Please post up your ideas.

I'd suggest the Lake Quinault Lodge, then go up to the Hoh Rainforest.
Unfortunately it's going to be very cold and wet with a good chance of ice and snow, but at least the lodge is very nice if you have to stay in.
