New River Campground in West Virginia question
I see a small campsite, New River Campground on the New River about 16 miles up river from the whitewater rafting area.
Is it any good, I mean, clean quiet and allows alcohol in moderation?

If you are talking about the one near Gauley Bridge WV yes it is a good place to camp it is a privately owned camp ground.

If it's this campground:
Home
Then it's actually down river from the whitewater rafting area.
It's not bad.
Battle Run Campground on Summersville Lake is my favorite in the area:

Between Fayetteville and Summersville is one of the worst speed traps in the US.

I second ACE. I used to work for them as a river guide many years ago. At that time they had great facilities.
