The Kalopa State Recreation Area is a state park and recreation area in Holualoa, Hawaii. It is also known as the Kalopa Native Forest State Park and Recreation Area.
Offering 100 acres, the Kalopa State Recreation Area adjoins the Kalopa Forest Reserve. This helps the site present more recreational opportunities to the public. For one, it has an arboretum that is a host to a forest of Metrosideros polymorpha trees, locally known as the ?ōhi?a lehua as well as many other rare plants like endangered lolu palms and rare native hibiscus.
Located at an elevation of 2000 feet, the climate at the Kalopa State Recreation Area is quite chilly. However, this does will not stop visitors from enjoying the site thoroughly through the various activities that can be done at the park.
