The Owyhee County Historical Museum and Library was established by the Owyhee County Historical Society to collect and preserve all pertinent data related to the county's history. Its library is officially named as the Julia J. Hyslop Research Center and Helen Nettleton Library and the museum is continuously working to expand its collection. It is the museum's ambition to have the most extensive collection of archives related to Owyhee County's history and has received various donations from notable authors and historians over the years. Not so long ago, Julia C. Wench and Mildretta Adams, both notable authors in the region, have donated their document and photograph collection to the museum. Besides its exhibit hall, the museum also offers a mining stamp mill as well as a schoolhouse for visitors to explore. A gift shop and an exhibit of farm machinery is also available at the site.
