The Eisenhower State Park is a state park and recreation area in Osage City, Kansas. It is located 35 miles out of Topeka.
Originally known as the Melvern State Park, the Eisenhower State Park was renamed in 1990 in honor of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower. Eisenhower is the only US President from the state, making it just fitting for such a memorial.
The Eisenhower State Park features 1785 acres of rolling hills punctuated by 18 miles of trails. Visitors of the park can enjoy fishing and boating at the Melvern Lake, as well as camping, biking, horseback riding, RVing, picnicking, and hiking. A swimming beach is also available as well as some horse shoe pits, playground, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and a Frisbee disk golf course.
