The Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is a state resort park and recreation area in Greenup, Kentucky. It features the rugged beauty of the Eastern Kentucky hills.
Born out of the creation of the Greenbo Lake, the Greenbo Lake State Resort Park traces its roots back to the 1950s. Local residents initiated a project of creating a recreational lake and were quite successful until they realized that managing a park is out of their capabilities. The park was then deeded to the state after having the Governor inspect the site and be amazed of its natural beauty.
Today, the Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is dubbed as the fisherman?s dream come true. It is also home to a fieldstone lodge named after the Poet Laureate Jesse Hilton Stuart.
