The Paintsville Lake State Park is a state park and recreation area in Staffordsville, Kentucky. It is best known for the recreational opportunities available within its 12,404 acres.
Established in 1986, the Paintsville Lake State Park features the Paintsville Lake. Covering 1100 acres, the lake is enjoyed by most park visitors through fishing. Game like bass, catfish, rainbow trout, walleye, and sunfish are commonly caught in this mountain lake. Aside from fishing, boating, camping, horseshoeing, and picnicking are also frequently enjoyed at the site. They also have a basketball court, sand volleyball court, and playgrounds at the site.
The Paintsville Lake State Park is also home to Mountain Homeplace, a replica of what small farming communities in the area used to look like back in the second half of the 19th century.
