The Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is a state park and recreation area in Delhi, Louisiana. It got its name after a nearby Native American archaeological site that is dubbed as the Poverty Point, named after the culture that has once resided in the area.
Featuring the Poverty Point Reservoir, a 2700 acre manmade lake, the Poverty Point Reservoir State Park offers a wide amount of water based recreational opportunities. Folks can go fishing, boating, and swimming at the lake. Aside from that, folks can also take advantage of the unique overnight accommodation facilities at the park, which includes waterfront cabins and lodges with loft bedrooms. Birding is also commonly enjoyed at the park, since it is situated in the Mississippi Flyway.
