The USS Kidd and Veterans Memorial is the marquee attraction of Baton Rouge?s Louisiana Naval War Memorial, which is also known as the state?s Nautical Center.
The memorial pays tribute to the locals of Louisiana who had sacrificed their lives in many of the country?s greatest wars, from 1776?s War of Independence up to present time. Exhibits and collections found at the memorial include a full-scale walkthrough of the gun deck of the USS Constitution as well as ship models and Louisiana veterans? artefacts.
Depending on the date of your visit, the USS Kidd may be floating along the Mississippi River or resting on a dry dock. Aboard the USS Kidd, visitors may enjoy strolling the decks of the USS Kidd and view its turret.
